Joanne Rogers Rides in Her First Parade

Joanne Rogers, wife of Fred Rogers, rode in the WPXI Holiday Parade this past weekend. She told Fred Rogers Company staff how excited she was to be a part of it all, saying, "I've never ridden in a parade before."

The parade is presented by Pittsburgh Public Schools. WPXI's website had this to say about Mrs. Rogers' participation in their parade. "We are thrilled to have Mrs. Joanne Rogers grace Fifth Avenue in the parade this year!"

New this year was a giant cold air filled Daniel Tiger balloon from the Mister Rogers inspired hit PBS Kids series "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood." This was the first parade appearance for the Daniel balloon as well.

David Newell (Mr. McFeely from "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood")  was also on hand greeting fans along the parade route.
