Mrs. Rogers Throws Out First Pitch at Altoona Curve Baseball Game

Joanne Rogers, wife of the late Fred Rogers, was on hand last night (7/5) when the Altoona Curve AA baseball club hosted a "Night in the Neighborhood." The team dressed in special jerseys honoring the legacy of Mister Rogers, wearing a replica of his signature red cardigan sweater, shirt and tie. In addition the Curve held a Mister Rogers Sweater Drive (more than 100 sweaters collected) and, after the game, each player autographed their Mister Rogers jerseys and auctioned them with proceeds going to benefit WPSU Public Television. Total bids were $3,780, with Joanne Rogers' jersey netting the highest bid, coming in at $550.

In this video, Joanne Rogers throws out the first pitch before the game and later chats with Altoona Curve play-by-play announcer, Nathan Bowen. Joanne called the evening "Great fun."
