Joanne Rogers Meets Fans of her late Husband Mister Rogers - July 11, 2014

This is a sweet moment with Joanne Rogers meeting fans of her husband. On Friday, July 11th, Joanne Rogers visited to statue on the north shore of Pittsburgh of her late husband, Fred Rogers, to see the restoration work performed by Art Conservationist Rhonda Wozniak. While there, she was greeted by fans of Mister Rogers who asked if he was as nice off-screen as on. She said yes, adding "When he got mad he would sing a song he wrote for "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood." This short clip begins near the end of the song "What do you do with the mad that you feel?"

The Mister Rogers Statue, which stands near the point where Pittsburgh's Three Rivers (Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio) converge gets its yearly cleaning using an environmentally process. The exhibit is called "A Tribute to Children" and honors the memory and ideals of its native son, Fred Rogers.  For more information, visit the Tribute to Children website.
